So Many Options with Craps

Wow I never thought playing craps could be this much fun! I’ve played the game at land-based casinos before, and didn’t quite get what the fuss was about, but when I play the online casino version of the game – man I am hooked! I think I like the game so much because of the large number of betting options. I am used to playing blackjack or this and that poker variation, but with online casino craps, there are just so many things a player can gamble on, and it’s just great.

It’s a bit more complicated to understand at first, as the board is big and has many markings and number, but if you know how to play craps in the real world, the online casino version won’t be a problem. I didn’t check the online help, because I know how to play, but I am sure they have a good explanation on how to play and what actually goes on at the craps room. If you are looking for a game that has many options, and doesn’t necessary end after one throw – online casino craps is the game for you!

A basic Craps starter offer

“I was asked about the basics of craps lately, about the kinds of bets and what not. If you’re looking for a diverse game to play, craps should do the job. I know it can be intimidating for beginners with all the different kinds of bets there are and the fast pace of the game that allows little time for questions. You can start out with the basic bet and use it for your first encounters with the game. In time you will become more experienced and add more bets to your list of bets. First of all, understand that it is a game of rounds. The first roll in a round is called the come out roll and sometimes the outcome of a round will be determined on the come out roll. Rolling a 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 ends the round. If any other total is rolled that number is called the point. By placing a white puck on an area of the table, the dealer points out what the point is. If a point is rolled then the dice will be rolled until the same point is rolled again or a 7 is rolled. Anyway that’s a starter. It helps a lot to understand dice probability which will take you one more step further into understanding craps.”

Craps History

There is more than one theory about the true craps history.

By one theory, in ancient times rolling of bones was done to worship the gods, and that formed this evolved both dice and various dice games including the popular Craps, or in our days online craps.

Another theory has the game evolving from an early Arab game passed through England, France and North America, this game called backgammon.

On one thing about craps all historians seem to agree, Craps was brought over to North America from Europe in the early 1700's. The game was first played on riverboats across the United States and then moved west with the frontier as the country grew and developed.

There are two general types of Craps played in our days - "Street Craps" and "Bank Craps". Street Craps is the variety you would find being played in informal settings. The betting is simplified, and someone must cover the bet in order for the game to progress. Bank Craps on the other hand is the form played in casinos and also in online casinos. The betting is more complicated and the house covers the bets or banks the game, so the players are in effect playing against the house.
